“Highly pigmented, this correction concealer instantly erases dark circles, softens and blurs lines while treating delicate skin. Skin immediately looks fresh, rested, bright and youthful. This ultimate ‘good night’s sleep in a jar’ camouflage cream is correction perfection in a pot.”
I am a Target shopaholic. Seriously; I walk in that store to grab one thing, and an hour later I emerge with a cart full of stuff I had no intention of buying. (Usually forgetting that one thing I went in for in the first place; but that’s neither here nor there.) Clothes, makeup, home goods–even food. I just can’t help myself. Don’t even get me started on their $1.50 socks. I probably have more fun socks than any one person ever needs in life, yet I always swing by and pick up another pair or two when I’m there. I don’t know what it is. Maybe there’s something hypnotic about that big red target…
I also have terrible under eye circles. (Stay with me a moment–there is a connection between these two topics, I promise.) With my super pale skin, the area under my eyes is terribly translucent. Every minute of sleep I miss, every drop of water I fail to drink, shows up under my eyes the next day. Even worse, there is a vein that is particularly prominence under my left eye. I am forever trying to find an under eye concealer that works on me, being both heavy enough to conceal without so thick that it looks chalky or creases. Its been an uphill battle that I had begun to despair of ever winning.
Then, I came across this Pixi Correction Concentrate in “Brightening Peach” at Target one day. Its promises to be lightweight, color correcting and good for my delicate under-eye skin sounded too good to be true. I just had to give it a try.
I believe this is only available on the Pixi website, or through Target. I have never seen this brand anywhere else, except for the few items of theirs that I’ve gotten through Ipsy. I haven’t been over the moon about the products I’ve gotten of theirs through Ipsy, but I am really becoming quite the fan of this corrector!
There are some skincare benefits to this formula, beyond the color correcting properties. This cream contains:
- Rose Hip Extract has great cell regenerating and skin elasticity boosting properties
- Vitamin A provides an anti-aging effect
- Vitamin C brightens and revitalizes
- Vitamin E nourishes and protects
Good stuff!
This product only comes in one color, called “Brightening Peach.” It is described as “neutralizing and brightening soft peach.” It definitely has a peachy-salmon tint to it, which worried me at first. Being so fair, I was afraid that this would look orange-y under my eyes, but I decided to trust the people at Pixi and give it a go anyhow.
This cream is a nice middle weight. It is just a tad (and I really do mean ever so slightly) on the greasy side, but not in a way that I find at all off-putting. It is light and viscous enough to spread easily with the tip of the finger or a brush (no tugging on that delicate skin!), yet I find that it is also thick enough to have a presence. By that, I mean that I don’t feel like it will wear away to nothing by the middle of the day; it sticks around.
I use the tiniest bit at a time, dabbing little dots of it all across the area I want to conceal/brighten with a very small concealer brush (as the pot is just too small for me to dab a finger in, without my nails making an unsightly gouge in the cream). Then, I blend those dots into my skin with my finger. If I feel I need a little more coverage, I go back and add a couple more dots, repeating the blending process. Using it this way, I have never had it crease on me or settle into my fine lines.

Verdict
If you suffer from dark bruise-like circles under your eyes like I do, you really should give this a try! I have been very pleased with this correcter! I’ve found that it not only lived up to its claims by canceling out my dark circles/vein, but it really does have a lovely brightening effect that looks very natural.
This little pot of cream also has a great price point of only $12.00. It looks very small but the contents are extremely concentrated. I use a couple dabs with a small concealer brush under each eye every morning, and it has barely made a dent in the jar I own. This stuff will likely last me quite a long time, but if I do run out I will definitely be sure to pick it up again!
I like this product too but I think it goes better with fair skin. As I get a bit of tan it started looking too pink and require more blending to suit a darker skintone.
Good point! I think fair to a light skintone could pull this off easily, without much need for another concealer over it. Medium skintones might be able to use it with another concealer to even out the skintone, but anyone tan or darker it will probably be far too pinky-peach on.
