Every once in a while, you come across a beauty product that you just aren’t sure how you lived without up until that point. The kind of thing you find yourself using each and every day since the moment you took it home, until you really do wonder what the hell you did before it entered your life.
For me, one of those products is Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask.
Now, this lip mask is pretty darn expensive, at $26.00 for a 0.52 oz tube. The pricetag alone held me off from buying it for quite a while. Then, it was damn near constantly sold out on Sephora.com, which made my wait to try it even longer. I finally jumped on it as a spur of the moment “need to make $50.00 for free shipping” add on, and immediately wondered if I was going to regret spending so much on yet another lip product.
I have chronically dry lips, which are dry to the point where they are almost always flaky and chapped. It makes wearing lipstick hell, and I am forever in search of a lip balm or treatment that will help stop them from drying out quite so much.
When I first tired it, I was surprised to see how much force I needed to apply to get this stuff out of the tube. You really need to give it a good squeeze, just to get a tiny amount–and a tiny amount is all you need. This stuff is thick and only a dab is needed. As soon as it comes in contact with the heat of your lips, it seems to melt and become incredibly soft and spreadable. It sinks in like butter and feels amazing on the lips; just a touch sticky, but not obnoxiously so. The scent/taste is sweet and vanilla-y.
But the best part? This stuff works. It has enough weight that it really does last. I apply mine right before bed, and the next morning there is still a trace of it on my lips. They are smooth, hydrated, and so darn soft. Since I’ve started using it nightly, I see so much improvement in my lips. They are much less flaky and haven’t been nearly as prone to chapping. I can even wear lipstick without having to exfoliate them right beforehand!

Verdict
I was hesitant at first but now I totally think that this lip mask is worth the $$. A little goes a long, long way and I really can’t imagine how I lived without this. It has given new life to my lips and I can see myself repurchasing this again and again.
I can’t wait to see how it performs this winter!
