I have to start this off by saying, to all The Warding’s fans, I’m sorry. I failed you last year. I really meant to have the The Last Dance, book three in the series, finished and published in 2017. Sadly, that did not happen. For whatever reason, this part of the story has taken me a lot more effort to write than the first two installments. This part of the tale is just super slow going for me, and I don’t have a good excuse for that. I’m really hoping this means its going to be a stellar installment when all is said and done (and worthy of the wait!) but, in the meantime–I’m sorry to make you wait. Iron featured on Betty Book Freak
Not gonna lie–seeing Iron‘s cover as the lead image on Betty Book Freak today made my morning!
Iron is being featured as their fantasy new release today, and I’m truly honored that they chose my book’s cover to be the main image of the day. (Fiona Jayde Media‘s fantastic cover art gets all the credit, of course. It is gorgeous and I’m still head over heels in love with it.)
Iron’s Launch Party
I’m normally a shy little introvert, so parties of any type aren’t really my thing. Especially a party where I’m the center of attention. Holy self consciousness, Batman!
Don’t get me wrong; I adore this little book of mine. I may have even toted around the first physical proof for a day or two, hardly able to put it down or stop grinning. But, talking about it is still hard for me (stupid anxiety) and I kind of balk at the idea of putting myself out there right beside it. Its not that I don’t want to celebrate the fruits of my hard labor or share it with others–quite the opposite! I just have a hard time engaging with people outside of the written word and feel I much better express myself in a medium like this blog. In person? I turn beet red and get tongue tied like whoa.
However, I have wonderful friends who love and support me, and some of them insisted on throwing me a book launch party–and how could I say no to that honor?
Tomorrow is when everything changes.
Tomorrow, Iron will be released across multiple platforms.
This is it. My first book will be live; published and ready for reader consumption. Reading those words–typing those words–is an incredible mix of emotions. Its surreal and it terrifying, but more than anything it is absolutely fucking amazing. I cannot even begin to put in to words how I feel right now, and how this whole whirlwind crash course in the world of indie publishing all together has made me feel… But I’ve got some thoughts swirling around in my brainpan right now, so I’m going to try.
Sugarpill Cosmetics “Heart Breaker” Palette Review
Yup, I’m cheating again. As with the Burning Heart palette I reviewed a little while back, I do not actually have the pre-assembled Sugarpill Cosmetics Heart Breaker Palette. Instead, I own all four shades that make up that palette, each individually packaged. Again, I had purchased a few of the colors separately and then just decided to buy the ones I was missing from that “set” rather than purchase the actual palette and have duplicates.
So, pretend those eyeshadows are housed in the pretty packaging Sugarpill provides for all its palettes and come take a look at the four colors from their Addicted To Pretty collection!
